Why Solar Light

A solar-powered skylight alternative

SolarLight uses a rooftop PV panel connected by cable to an indoor LED ceiling light, providing daylight-like illumination where a conventional skylight shaft is impractical. Solar-mode brightness varies with sunlight, shading and installation conditions.

Roof access, cable routing and ceiling work require suitable skills and safe access. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific model, roof type, mounting and weatherproofing. A cable entry or roof fixing may be needed; the required method depends on the property. Installation is not a guarantee against leaks.

Hybrid mains operation is model-dependent. Any new or altered fixed mains wiring, switches or power points must be installed by a licensed electrician. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the supplied driver and input-control equipment.

Choosing a suitable model

Choose the panel size and shape to suit your room and ceiling. Actual illumination depends on the model, sunlight, shading, ceiling height and room finishes. Confirm cut-out dimensions, cable length, roof compatibility and any wet-area requirements before ordering.

What to expect

SolarLight does not provide a view of the sky, ventilation or passive solar heating. It does not deliver natural sunlight into the room. Some hybrid models offer optional mains-powered lighting after dark; check the product details and supplied instructions.
